Production, pre-production and development environments, environments subject to insecure networks (for instance Internet) or, on the contrary, internal networks or networks considered secure, provisional test or demo environments, etc. Coexistence of different environments would imply deploying independent hardware resources for each of them. In a virtualized system, each environment corresponds to a virtual machine and is executed independently from the others, its functional requirements are independently satisfied, and improper functioning of a system will not have a negative impact on the others. Recovering a compromised environment can be achieved in a flexible way using previous checkpoints.
